Our lean and innovative supply chain practically eliminates food waste, reduces carbon emissions, optimizes packaging and favors local ingredient sourcing

  • Reduces food waste

    Reduction and avoidance of food waste is at the core of how HelloFresh operates and what we offer to our customers. Our make-to-order business model pulls exactly the right quantities from the supply chain based on consumer orders. Only 2.2 grams of food per every meal we sell is wasted in our facilities and our operations generated 82%* less food waste than traditional food retailers.

    We apply these three principles to all packaging. We develop new ways of packaging food with less waste, while still ensuring excellent food quality, freshness and safety. Where the seasons and transport conditions allow, HelloFresh ships fresh ingredients in our boxes without any additional packaging.

Our Standards

We believe that sustainable success requires sustainable action fostered by a culture of integrity, respect and responsibility. Our Code of Ethics and our Ethical Trading Policy set out our standards reflecting these values. In addition, we have set up a robust dedicated Compliance Management Function to prevent, detect and react to any violations of our standards.
