JuLY 18, 2016: HelloFresh achieves milestone in long-term growth strategy

HelloFresh has successfully advanced the planned expansion of its global organisation in the first half year of 2016. The company strategically supplemented its existing product range and tapped into additional core markets in Switzerland and Canada. The market entry in Wallonia, Belgium, in a few weeks will close a geographical gap in the defined core regions. HelloFresh will then be active in nine markets. The company’s expansion focuses on key markets critical to establishing a sustainable position as global champion in the “fresh-food-at-home” market. The growth strategy aims at establishing a leading position in the digital transformation of food culture towards fresh, healthy eating.

JuLY 18, 2016: HelloFresh presents leading technology platform behind rapid growth in customers

May 2016 – HelloFresh has entered into a partnership with Thermomix which will see HelloFresh provide recipes specifically tailored to cooking with the ever-so-popular smart kitchen helper.  Customers in Germany and Austria can now choose to order their Classic or Veggie boxes with recipes designed for the Thermomix. 

HelloFresh and Thermomix naturally complement each other in their mission to get more people cooking fresh food at home. September 23, 2015: HelloFresh Announces continued strong growth in h1 2015

Berlin, 23 September 2015 – The first half of 2015 marked yet another period of outstanding growth for HelloFresh, the largest subscription-based Fresh Food at Home business globally.     

  • Active Subscribers grew by 429% vs June 30, 2014 to 402,000 as of June 30, 2015  
  • Total Meals Served in the first half grew by 355% vs the same period in 2014 to 18.2 million
  • Net Revenue increased by 408% vs the same period in 2014 to €112.5m

Founded in 2011 by Dominik Richter and Thomas Griesel in Berlin, in the month of July HelloFresh served 4.4m meals in seven markets across three continents. 

Despite its strong growth trajectory, HelloFresh was adjusted(1) EBITDA (pre-marketing expenses) positive both during 2014 and for the first half of 2015 with adjusted1 EBITDA (pre-marketing expenses) margin of around 13.4% and 15.7%, respectively. The Netherlands, one of our early adopter markets, have already been adjusted1 EBITDA (after marketing expenses) positive in the first half of 2014 and the first half of 2015, while still growing at a speed similar to other markets within the group demonstrating the inherent potential of the business model.                                                                                                                       (1) Adjusted for stock compensation payments and certain other extraordinary items.

September 17, 2015: HelloFresh Raises EUR 75 million at a Valuation of EUR 2.6 billion

Berlin, Germany -  HelloFresh, the leading global fresh meals at home provider, today announced a new investment of EUR 75 million from UK investment manager Baillie Gifford. The Baillie Gifford investment values HelloFresh at EUR 2.6 billion post-money.

New york, NY – February 6th, 2015 – amid broad interest from international investors, HelloFresh's existing shareholders, rocket internet and insight venture partners, support the company by financing its next stage of development with a new funding round of $126 million. Hellofresh plans to invest the new funding on further enhancing the customer experience through key initiatives such as increasing flexibility for its customers and integrating along the value chain.
